The U.S. Government Expresses its Condolences

The U.S. Embassy in Tallinn, on behalf of the Government of the United States of America and the American people, wishes to express its condolences to the family of Sergeant Major Ivar Brok of the Estonian Defense Forces and to the Estonian nation at this difficult time.

Chargé d'Affaires a.i. Karen Decker delivered a letter to Defense Minister Jaak Aaviksoo today in order to convey her sympathies to the Estonian Government, the families of the deceased, and the Estonian people. The United States honors the sacrifice Estonia has made in advancing the cause of freedom in Afghanistan and around the world. We share Estonia's grief and mourn this terrible loss.
